CH2M HILL Australia and UGL Engineering have awarded a steam generators contract to Global Power Group, a unit of Switzerland-based conglomerate Foster Wheeler.

Under the contract, the company will design and supply three utility package steam generators located at the Ichthys Project onshore LNG facilities at Blaydin Point in Northern Territory, Australia.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but Foster Wheeler said it has received a full notice to proceed on the contract. The new steam generators are slated to be delivered in fourth quarter of 2014.

The company will also provide auxiliary equipment for the project, which would be designed to burn both low pressure natural gas and liquid iso-pentane.

The three steam generators are expected to generate a total of 278t per hour of high-pressure superheated steam, which would be fed to the steam header of customers.

Foster Wheeler North America chief executive Byron Roth said the firm will provide value to this oil and gas project in Australia.

"Our package steam generators have been an integral part of our steam generator product range for over 60 years," Roth added.

Foster Wheeler North America will be executing the contract.
