Under the contract valued at $500m, Foster Wheeler will provide project management services for the main engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts phase.

The scope of the work also includes management of the EPC contractors right from the beginning to the completion of performance testing.

KNPC’s clean fuels project involves upgrading and expanding the total combined output capacity of the two Kuwait-based refineries by 264,000 barrels per stream day to 800,000 barrels per stream day, and increase the conversion of fuel oil to high value products.

The clean fuels project is undertaken to meet the growing market demand and tighter specifications for sulfur content of transportation fuels. It is expected to be completed during the second quarter of 2018.
