Foster Wheeler has entered into a fifteen-year licence agreement with Wuxi Huaguang Boiler Co, to provide a technology licence for subcritical pressure circulating fluidised-bed (CFB) steam generators to be sold in China.

The agreement also opens the possibility of Wuxi acting as a major supplier for projects located outside of China.

Foster Wheeler has also announced that its German and Dutch subsidiaries have been awarded a turnkey contract to design, supply and erect a circulating CFB boiler island for Huisvuilcentrale Noord-Holland’s new 71 MW biomass power station to be built at its existing waste incineration plant in the town of Alkmaar in The Netherlands.

The contract is valued at approximately $29.5 million and the boiler island is scheduled for commercial operation in early January 2008.
