Under the contract, Foster’s Global Engineering and Construction Group subsidiary will be responsible to provide PDVSA with a detailed engineering design for Phase I of the Hydroskimming section of the new refinery.
The scope of work will also includes delivering open book estimation for the crude distillation unit, storage and blending unit and fuel distribution plant.
Foster Wheeler chief operating officer Umberto della Sala said, "This award follows the 2011 award to Foster Wheeler of the process design and front-end engineering design services contract for the Batalla Santa Ines Refinery."
The company was earlier contracted in July 2012 for the engineering, procurement and construction management services for PDVSA’s El Palito Refinery expansion project too, according to the company.
Foster Wheeler will carry out the contract work in collaboration with Hyundai Engineering and Construction Company.
