The hydro power plants, located in Mustionjoki, Paimionjoki, Kyronjoki, Loimijoki and Koillismaa in Finland, have an annual production of 85GWh.
The transaction, together with previous divestment of a 60% share in Killin Voima Oy, completes the company’s divestments in hydro facilities.
Fortum vice president of renewal energy Risto Andsten said the company is concentrating its operations to power plants on the Vuoksi and Oulujoki water systems in Finland and to holding in Kemijoki Oy.
"This will enable us to further improve the efficiency of these power plants," said Andsten.
Koskienergia Oy is focused on small hydro power production.
