Finnish energy company Fortum in collaboration with Swedish power company Skellefteå Kraft have unveiled plans to purchase 60 wind turbines from Nordex for the Blaiken onshore wind farm located in Sweden.

Fortum will place an order for 12 wind turbines while the rest will be procured by Skellefteå Kraft for the 250MW wind farm which is currently being developed.

The 2.5MW wind turbines will cover a total of 150MW of the wind farm’s planned capacity and will be equipped with warming system which will help it operate in cold conditions.

The wind farm, being jointly developed by a joint venture of Fortum and Skellefteå Kraft, will feature 100 wind turbines in total.

Nordex will deliver the wind turbines in 2012 for the wind farm will is scheduled to be complete in 2015.
