Fortis, which is engaged in the distribution of electricity and natural gas, has appointed Geoffrey Hyland as its non-executive chairman, replacing Bruce Chafe, who has retired.
Mr Hyland joined the Fortis board in 2001 and is a member of the corporation’s human resources committee and he is a director of FortisOntario. Mr Hyland retired as president and CEO of Shawcor in 2005 after 37 years of service.
Mr Hyland continues to serve on the board of ShawCor and is a director of Enerflex Systems Income Fund, SCITI Total Return Trust and Exco Technologies.
