Hydro POWER operators and developers are finding it difficult to carry out work because of restrictions imposed on movement in the countryside following the outbreak of the foot and mouth in rural areas of the UK.
Hydro companies are claiming that it is virtually impossible to get permission from landowners or farmers to carry out surveys or building work and that, if permission is granted, they are confronted with hostility from neighbouring landowners.
