Five groups have formerly registered interest in the auction of the 0.8MW Amlan hydropower plant in the Philippines.

A pre-bid conference was held yesterday by the country’s privatisation authority, Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management Corp (Psalm).

Deadline for submission of bids is 25 June.

The plant is located at Amlan, in Negros Oriental province. Designed as a baseload plant, it was the first hydropower facility built in the province. It houses two horizontal shaft type 400kW units.

Before the late April deadline for formal expressions of interest there had been seven groups enquiring about the plant.
