As part of the deal, First Solar will deliver the thin film PV modules between 2017 and 2018 to install at the Strata’s solar projects in the southern and eastern US.
First Solar said that Strata has purchased more than 1,000MW of modules from the company, including with the latest deal.
Strata Solar CEO Markus Willem said: "Strata has a relentless focus on quality, efficiency, and flawless execution, so it’s critical for us to have world-class technology partners like First Solar."
First Solar US president Georges Antoun said: "We are excited by Strata’s ongoing commitment to First Solar as a source of high-performance technology that provides a competitive edge in their project portfolio."
In a separate deal, First Solar has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with US-based Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) to supply power from a 10.8MW solar project to be constructed at the Rancho Seco Nuclear Generation Station.
The project is being developed on 60 acres of SMUD-owned property, including the location of the decommissioned Rancho Seco Nuclear Generation Station.
The Rancho Seco solar project will generate around 22,000MWh of renewable energy each year, which will be provided to the business customers of SMUD through the utility’s commercial solarshares program.
First Solar US West project development vice president Brian Kunz said: "We are excited to be working on this project, which provides access to solar power for businesses that might not otherwise be able to include it in their energy procurement strategies due to cost, lack of available rooftop space or other factors."
