The projects, which are being developed by Thien Tan Group, are spread across several provinces in Vietnam. Construction on the initial projects is slated to begin before the end of this year.
First Solar said its modules have been individually tested to pass accelerated life and stress tests beyond industry standards.
The company claims that the solar modules have been independently certified for reliable performance in high temperature and high humidity environment.
First Solar South-East Asia business development director Rob Bartrop said: "The advanced Cadmium Telluride (CdTe) modules offer significant efficiency and reliability advantages over typical crystalline silicon modules, particularly in a hot and humid climate like Vietnam."
Thien Tan Group, which was established in 2004, funds as well as constructs hydropower generation, along with residential and industrial developments, real estate and solar energy generation.
This is the first time that the company is partnering with First Solar.
Last June, First Solar received a supply contract for the 200MW second phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum solar park in Dubai, UAE.
As part of the contract, First Solar was to deliver more than 2.36 million PV modules for phase two of the project. The company had earlier supplied 152,880 panels with a combined capacity of 13MW for the first phase.
