Under the agreement, Reliance Power will receive 40MW of advanced thin film modules from First Solar by the end of this year.
Reliance Power will use the solar modules for its solar power project in Jaisalmer city of Rajasthan, India.
The solar power project will deliver renewable electricity to Mumbai, the capital of the Indian state of Maharashtra.
The delivery of the remaining 60MW of modules is expected be completed next year.
Last month, Reliance Power’s Dahanu Solar Power unit has received the US Export-Import Bank approval for an $84.3m direct loan to buy First Solar panels for the first 40MW of the power project.
First Solar manufactures solar modules with an advanced semiconductor technology, and is a provider of comprehensive PV system solutions.
