A new international Protocol to cut air pollution across Europe and North America over the next 10 years was signed in Sweden.
The protocol is intended to cut emissions by about 30 per cent in SO2, NOx, volatile organic compounds and ammonia by 2010. The protocol covers 30 countries in Europe and North America.
