Mineral resource company Fieldex Exploration has secured drill permit and started drilling program at the Copper Point project located 30km southeast of Chibougamau, Québec, Canada.

Chibougamau Diamond Drilling has been awarded diamond drill contract for the project.

Comprising 59 mining claims representing approximately 3,319ha, the Copper Point Property is located in the northeast part of the Boisvert intrusion, which is situated 30km southeast of the Chibougamau volcanic segment in the Archean Superior Province.

An IP survey was carried out on the Copper Point Property in 2014 and 2015, upon discovery of outcrops with some quartz veinlets and disseminated pyrite and chalcopyrite within sub-vertical dipping metasedimentary rocks.

The company recovered 2.5% Cu, 14.0 g/t Ag and 0.5g/t Au from one grab sample.

The IP survey, however, revealed a strong chargeability anomaly over a 1.4km and a width varying between 40m to 75m.

The company did not observe graphite and considers the anomaly as a potential structural fabric of disseminated sulphides which could contain economic metals.

Fieldex is actively exploring for base and strategic group metal deposits in the province of Quebec.
