The manual shut down comes after an inspection of the turbine building identified a small fire in a cable tray that was carrying wiring from the breaker.
The fire was extinguished by plant personnel, and assessment for equipment damage and cause of the electrical fault is currently underway.
The 911MW Unit 1 returned to service on 04 November, following scheduled refueling, maintenance and a turbine upgrade.
Meanwhile Beaver Valley Unit 2 remains operating at 100% power, according to the company.
