The Georgian government has provided a new loan worth US$1M to Energogeneratsia to finance the rehabilitation of the Khrami 2 hydroelectric plant, which is managed by ZAO Inter RAO UES.

According to the Interfax news agency, the money has been used to complete the repair of the plant’s second 55MW generating unit. It has been provided from money allocated to the Energy Ministry for this year.

A total of US$2.39M was allocated by the state for the repair of the plant’s two generating units in 2005. ZAO Inter RAO UES received the right to manage the Khrami 1 and Khrami 2 hydroelectric power plants for a period of 25 years in September 2003.
