DuPont Fuel Cells is broadening its fuel cell product line to include fuel cell components such as membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs). The company has previously only supplied the fuel cell proton exchange membrane Nafion. The MEAs, which form the core of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell, are currently only available through confidential development agreements with DuPont. Their addition to the company’s product range is the culmination of an 18 month product and technology development effort. Dupont is also working to develop other fuel cell components such as the conductive plates which house and protect the fuel cell stack.
