Exelon Corporation (Exelon) said that Chaka M. Patterson has assumed an expanded role as vice president (VP) and treasurer. In his new role, Patterson will oversee all treasury functions, including cash management, bond issuances, investor relations and relationships with ratings agencies and banks. It has also said that Karie L. Anderson has been promoted to VP, investor relations, Patterson’s previous position, effective January 27, 2009.

“In nearly two years as head of Exelon’s investor relations group, Chaka has substantially improved investor access to management and involved more members of management in investor activities,” Hilzinger said. “Most recently, he played an instrumental role with the investment community in securing support for our proposed NRG acquisition. It is with great pleasure and utmost confidence that we announce his new responsibilities as treasurer of Exelon.”

As VP, investor relations, Anderson will lead an investor relations team that serves as the primary interface with Exelon’s major institutional shareholders and Wall Street analysts. In her previous role as Exelon’s director, investor relations, she was responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s investor targeting program and communications for earnings announcements and other events. “In her time at Exelon, Karie has made tremendous contributions to the finance organization and, most recently, investor relations,” Hilzinger said. “We commend her for this tireless dedication. Her experience, leadership and commitment to excellence make her a natural to head our investor relations efforts.”
