Evoqua Water Technologies has acquired Rhode Island-based water filtration and disinfection products manufacturer, Neptune Benson.

The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction, which was signed last month.

Neptune Benson, which was established in 1956, initially started producing filtration systems for residential and small commercial pool markets.

The company later shifted its focus towards providing filtration systems for institutional pools larger than 250,000 gallons.

Neptune Benson’s 110 employees across operations in Coventry, Rhode Island; Beaver Dam, Wisconsin; Bridgeport, Connecticut and Montreal, Canada, have now joined Evoqua.

Together, the two companies filter, disinfect, treat, and enhance billions of gallons of water in the industrial, municipal and recreational water markets.

At the time of signing the agreement, Evoqua CEO Ron Keating said: "Neptune Benson’s filtration and disinfection products have been well regarded in the industry since 1956 and complement Evoqua’s existing businesses and markets-served extremely well.

"This addition is a natural fit for us and consistent with our growth plan to double our business by the end of 2021."

Evoqua helps municipalities and industrial customers protect and improve their water. The company’s brands include IONPURE, DAVCO, Envirex, Memcor, Wallace and Tiernan, and several others.
