Evident Technologies, Inc. (Evident) has received the patent for semiconductor nanocrystal synthesis from US patent office. This synthesis of the nanocrystal with a metal layer improves the brightness and stability of the semiconductor nanocrystal complex. This new technology will benefit companies and research institutes and it enables to continue the development of quantum dot applications from energy conversion to LEDs to the life sciences.

The patent number for this semiconductor nanocrystal synthesis is7,482,059.

The issuance of this key patent highlights Evident Technologies’ position as a leader in the development of proprietary semiconductor nanocrystal technologies and provides Evident with broad protection in a rapidly growing segment of the market, stated Clint Ballinger chief executive officer of Evident. In response to growing industry demand, our scientists have worked diligently over the past several years to develop new bright, stable semiconductor nanocrystals.

“Since I started working at Evident in 2001, I’ve seen our patent portfolio grow to over 70 patents and patents pending, and it’s very exciting work,” stated Adam Peng Ph.D., Senior Scientist. “This patented material already goes into our LED products that you can buy at local retailers, so even my kids can see the impact our science has on products. I’m proud to be part of the Evident team.”
