EPA granted the extension of the full works approval without any amendments except the revised date. This confirms that the company’s planning for environmental delivery criteria has been again endorsed by the EPA.
The site of the proposed gas-fired plant is located near Dongara in the mid-west Western Australia. According to the company, power from the Centauri 1 station would be marketed to the mid-west region of Western Australia.
As reported, in April 2009, Eneabba Gas executed a Heads of Agreement (HoA) with Carbon Energy to develop an underground coal gasification syngas supply for the Centauri 1 Power Station.
Following the HoA, the company will work with Carbon Energy to conduct exploration drilling to find coal resource that is suitable for UCG and to negotiate a gas sale agreement and a share sale agreement to carry out the transaction.
