E.ON UK has announced the launch of its FixOnline dual fuel energy product, which is priced to include the utility’s proposed 9% electricity price decrease.
The electricity price decrease is effective from March 31, 2009 and will see 4.1 million customers’ prices fall by an average of GBP41 per year, according to E.ON. FixOnline customers can benefit from discounts of around 17% on E.ON’s post-decrease standard prices, with both their discounts and prices fixed until June 1, 2010.
According to the company, people who join FixOnline must pay by fixed monthly Direct Debit; manage their energy account online and receive online paperless bills which are better for the environment; pay a cancellation charge of up to GBP30 if they move off FixOnline before June 1, 2010.
E.ON claims that, on average, a FixOnline dual fuel customer would pay GBP1,035 a year, saving them GBP123 a year compared to the average UK offline bill. FixOnline is available as a dual fuel or single electricity product, is only available online, and has limited availability.
For customers who do not want to fix their prices, E.ON has launched in its suite of EnergyOnline Extra Saver products with EnergyOnline Extra Saver v13. Customers who sign up will receive discounts of around 14% on E.ON’s standard prices, with discounts guaranteed until at least August 1, 2010, claimed the company.
