enXco, an EDF Energies Nouvelles company, has completed the 50MW Linden Wind project in collaboration with Southern California Public Power Authority (SCPPA), a company that provides financing to Publicly Owned Utilities for their participation in electric generating facilities.

The Linden wind farm, located in Klickitat County, Washington, is powered by 25 REpower MM92 turbines to provide electricity to Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) and the City of Glendale, the project partners to SCPPA.

enXco commenced construction on wind project, to be owned by SCPPA, in November 2009 after receiving SCPPA board approval in August 2009 to deliver wind power to the Los Angeles area by utilizing the existing transmission.

SCPPA will receive 90% (45MW) of power produced by the Linden wind farm, to meet about 0.5% of its renewable portfolio goal of 20% by 2010.

enXco president and CEO Tristan Grimbert said that the company is proud and pleased to partner with SCPPA to contribute to their increasing renewable generation base.

“The completion of the Linden project illustrates our growing and productive relationship with SCPPA and its members,” Grimbert said.
