The buses ply on the route to Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans and Houston Hobby Airport in Texas.
Synthetic diesel provides several environmental benefits over petroleum-based diesel, according to the Southwest Research Institute, including emission reduction of particulate matter by 16% , non-methane emissions by 68%, NOx gases by 33% and carbon monoxide ny 23%.
Enterprise Holdings corporate sustainability head Lee Broughton said, "By using synthetic diesel and embracing alternative fuels, we are following our ongoing commitment to help grow the clean fuel market and increasing opportunities for alternatives to become commercially viable."
Mansfield Oil Company president Doug Haugh added, "Synthetic diesel is a sustainable, ultra-clean burning, high-cetane fuel that reduces carbon emissions up to 70 percent and significantly reduces particulates and NOx when combusted in existing diesel engines."
