Acquisition
Enron has offered to acquire equity in a $120 million project at Hazira in Gujarat. Enron is seeking the state’s permission to participate in the 160 MWe power project.
The plant is being promoted by Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation, which will have a 26 per cent stake in the project. Other state-owned companies will together hold 25 per cent. No decision has yet been made for the remaining 49 per cent equity.
