The solar systems at Hayes Valley North and South were developed by Sunwheel Energy Partners, a provider of turnkey solar energy systems for urban and community partners, and integrated by Real Goods Solar, a solar energy integrator.
Sunwheel financed the project through a power purchase agreement, which enabled the community to use the solar-generated electricity without upfront investment or ongoing maintenance costs. The energy savings produced by the solar systems are shared among all residents and common areas of the properties, the company said.
