Italian energy company ENI is currently in negotiation with Russia's Gazprom to divest its 33% stake in Czech refinery, Ceska Rafinerska.

The negotiations were revealed by a spokesman of the refiner’s majority shareholder Unipetrol, which is controlled by Poland’s PKN Orlen.

Unipetrol spokesman Borek Konecny said it is too early to say whether Unipetrol would exercise its option of first refusal to buy ENI stake in the refinery.

Ceska Rafinerska is majority owned by Czech downstream oil group Unipetrol, along with Eni and Royal Dutch Shell.

The company also operates a second, smaller refinery in Kralupy, according to Reuters.
