According to the terms of the agreement, EnerNOC will administer the Ausgrid Dynamic Peak Rebate Program to Ausgrid’s commercial, institutional and industrial customers.
In addition, EnerNOC will also deploy its DemandSMART software that will help Ausgrid’s customers in getting real-time energy data. The contract is an expansion of a pilot program which started in 2012.
EnerNOC chairman and CEO Tim Healy said, "Key contracts like this agreement with Ausgrid provide EnerNOC a solid foothold into the eastern states where rising electricity prices and a pressing need for grid optimization make demand response very attractive."
Ausgrid is executing the initial Dynamic Peak Rebate project with the aim of developing demand side options as an alternative to investing in network infrastructure.
Ausgrid’s electricity network provides power to 1.6 million homes and businesses throughout the Sydney metropolitan area.
