The power plant was built at an investment of EUR120m ($168.96m) and is located in the upper Ceyhan River basin.
The facility includes two units which are expected to generate a total of 379GWh of electricity annually.
Enerjisa said that the power plant’s annual production will be equivalent to 10% of the power demand of Kahramanmaras in 2010.
With the opening of this facility, the company has increased its total power generating capacity to 1,557MW.
Enerjisa is a joint venture between Austrian electric company Verbund and Turkey’s Sabanci.
