The ESD highlights the potential impacts associated with the planned development of the project as well as the work that will be undertaken to mitigate those impacts.

It also describes what must be contained in the public environmental review, which will be available for a 12-week public review in the first half of 2015.

EMA managing director Mike Young said: "This is the next step in the public consultation of the permitting process.

"We are currently undertaking a Pre-feasibility Study and plan to complete our definitive Feasibility Study in mid-2016.

"We are focused on commencing construction in late – 2016 with first ore production in 2017 to meet what can only be described as a wall of demand for uranium."

The interested parties should make comments to the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) of Western Australia.
