The main component of the A$650,000 project was to install more than 2km of new powerlines to improve reliability to the homes and businesses, mostly in Mount Crosby and Karana Downs of Brisbane, Australia.
Kevin Ball, works group manager of Energex, said that electricity use in the area is growing by up to 10% a year.
Mr Ball said: Much of this increase is attributed to population growth, domestic and business expansion and the rapid take up of affordable home air conditioning. This upgrade will assist Energex keep pace with current and future local demands.
