Italy’s Enel is to buy the 63 MW Snyder Wind Project, to be developed in Scurry County, Texas, USA, from Windkraft Nord.

The farm, which is due to commence commercial operations in 2007, will use Vestas’ V90 3 MW turbines. Windkraft Nord will remain the construction manager of the project.

Fulvio Conti, Enel’s chief executive said. “This deal, coupled with the partnership we signed in September with TradeWind Energy to develop over 1,000 MW of wind capacity, further confirms Enel’s strong commitment to develop the wind market in the USA.”
