The deal includes 26% stake purchase in 235MW Chisholm View wind farm for $47m and another 26% interest in 200 MW Prairie Rose wind farm for $34m.
Acquisition was made through GE’s subsidiaries EFS Chisholm and EFS Prairie Rose which respectively owned the Chisholm and Prairie Rose wind projects.
With this transaction, the company will have 75% ownership in both the wind farms, while GE will hold remaining 25% interest.
Commenting on the acquisition, Enel Green Power CEO Francesco Starace stated: "The full consolidation of the Chisholm View and the Prairie Rose wind farms will bring the installed capacity of Enel Green Power in North America above the mark of 1.6 GW."
Earlier in June 2012, EGP-NA and EFS Chisholm signed a capital raising contract to fund $375m Chisholm View wind farm located in Oklahoma, US.
The company entered into another agreement with EFS Prairie Rose to raise funds for $305m Prairie Rose wind farm in Minnesota.
