Enel Green Power, through its subsidiary Inelec, has secured a $100m loan from Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria Bancomer (BBVA) in Mexico.

The loan will be used to finance the development of the 101MW La Mata wind farm, located in southern Oaxaca state.

Earlier in November 2012, Inelec secured a contract for the development of the wind power facility, reports the power-eng.com.

The electricity generated at the wind farm will be purchase by the Mexican national utility CFE, under a 20-year power purchasing agreement.

Currently, Enel Green Power has around 197 MW of installed capacity in Mexico. Of the total power generation capacity, 144MW is from wind power and 53MW is from hydroelectric power.

The company has around 700 operational plants across 16 countries in Europe and the Americas.
