The new power plant is located in Cove Fort and will have a gross installed capacity of 25MW.

The geothermal power plant worth about $126m will commence operations by the end of next year.

Enel Green Power CEO Francesco Starace said, "Cove Fort will contribute its capacity to Enel Green Power’s existing net installed geothermal capacity in the US, currently amounting to 47 MW."

Around 160GWh of electricity per year will be produced by facility and the produced electricity will avoid the emission of around 115,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere each year.

The Cove Fort power plant will also benefit from a 20-year contract for the purchase of the electricity generated.
