The Salbatica II wind farm consists of 35 turbines, each with a capacity of 2MW, and is located near Tulcea.
The facility is expected to deliver around 200 million kWh per year, enough to meet the power consumption needs of 66,000 households as well as avoiding the atmospheric emission of about 140,000 tons of CO2 per year.
Enel Green Power CEO Francesco Starace said the company will continue to invest in Romania and welcomes, towards this end, the recent approval by the Government of its renewables support schemes.
Salbatica II facility joins the company’s first two wind farms, that are Agighiol and Salbatica I.
The three wind farms will have a total installed capacity of 174MW, and will generate over 480 million kWh per year, enough to meet the needs of some 160,000 households as well as avoiding the emission of about 200,000 tons of CO2 per year.
