Enel Green Power constructed the Catania1 photovoltaic plant with an installed capacity of 10MW in the Malaventano district of the municipality of Catania.
The Catania1 plant has the capacity to produce around 16 million kWh a year, avoiding emissions of some 8,000 tonnes of CO2 into the air per year.
The company also constructed the Rosolini plant with an installed capacity of 2MW.
The Rosolini solar plant is expected to produce over 3 million kWh per year, avoiding annual emissions of over 1,500 tonnes of CO2.
The combined electricity produced by two plants is equivalent to the energy consumed by over 7,000 families.
