The new plant includes 34 wind turbines, with a capacity to produce 3 MW each, for a total installed capacity of 102 MW.

The new wind farm, which will generate around 390 GWh per year, is expected to complete and enter service in the second half of 2014.

In June, the company through its subsidiary Enel Green Power Mexico, has signed a $100m loan with the BBVA Bancomer Group.

Enel plans to use part of this loan for the construction of new plant with the help of Energías Renovables La Mata, a subsidiary of Enel Green Power Mexico, while energy produced by the plant will be supplied to the grid through a nearby substation.

Enel Green Power has a total installed capacity of 197 MW in Mexico, of which 144 MW of wind power and 53 MW of hydroelectric power.
