Situated in South Africa’s Limpopo province, the plant has the capacity to generate up to 122GWh of energy per year, enough to power about 38,000 homes.
It also helps in avoiding about 111,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year.
Eskom will buy the energy generated from the plant under a 20 year agreement.
Enel South Africa country manager Lamberto Dai Pra said: "With the completion of Tom Burke, Enel takes its installed capacity in South Africa to nearly 160 MW.
"Furthermore, we have more than a gigawatt either recently awarded or already under construction, leveraging on the huge potential offered by this resource-rich country."
In South Africa, EGP RSA owns and operates several other PV plants including the 82.5 MWPaleisheuwel PV power plant and 10 MW Upington PV power plant.
EGP RSA also has an additional 364MW of projects currently under construction.
