The net profit in 2007 was positively influenced by an incidental item of E40 million and a one-time item in the corporate income tax amounting to E92 million.
The company’s operating profit decreased from E549 million in 2006 to E474 million in 2007. Important causes of this decrease were the lower other revenues and higher operating costs, mainly arising from several IT projects and process improvements.
In 2007, Eneco made investments in the area of sustainability, mainly in wind projects, knowledge development, innovation and, in particular, geothermal energy and heat-cold storage and supply. The total investment in sustainability-related activities amounted to E156 million.
The revenues from energy supply and other revenues amounted to E3.8 billion, an increase of 18% when compared with 2006. The total gross margin rose to E499 million, a rise of 15% when compared with 2006. Operating profit amounted to E166 million in 2007, as opposed to E182 million in 2006.
