Endesa France is to build a new wind farm called Les Vents de Cernon. Once completed in 2008, the facility will deliver 17.5MW of capacity.

The Spanish power firm's French subsidiary has already signed a turnkey construction contract with Danish multinational Nordex. The civil engineering work will begin in autumn 2007. The assembly of the wind turbines is scheduled to begin in May 2008 and the farm is expected to be delivered on June 15, 2008.

Annual output is estimated at over 39GWh, which will result in annual savings equivalent to approximately 9,800 tonnes of oil and 32,600 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

This project is part of Endesa France's core business plan, which calls for the construction of 200MW of wind generation capacity. To this end, other wind farm tenders are scheduled for the near future.
