Endesa’s 2006 net income included E719 million related to capital gains and other non-recurring items. Eliminating non-recurring items from both years’ results, net income would have risen 14.2% in 2007.

Net income grew across all the company’s businesses measured on a like-for-like basis. Net income from the firm’s Spanish and Portuguese businesses amounted to E1.78 billion, up 13.7%. Net income was E419 million for the European business, an increase of 12.8%, while net income amounted to E471 million in Latin America, an increase of 17.4%, compared to 2006. Revenues amounted to E21.93 billion, a year-on-year increase of 6.6%, while sales amounted to E21.2 billion, up 8.1%, compared to 2006.

Gross profit rose 5.4% to E10.99 billion. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization grew 4.9% to E7.48 billion, and operating cash flow rose 13.3% year-on-year to E5.25 billion.
