According to a report by the AFX news service, Endesa – currently the subject of a long-running takeover tug of war between compatriot Gas Natural and Germany’s E.ON – is investigating possible investments in coal, gas and wind on Sardinia.

Endesa is apparently looking at building a 400MW coal fired power station on the island, together with some wind turbines and infrastructure linked to a gas pipeline from Algeria, AFX reports, citing the company as its source.

Endesa already operates a 20MW windfarm and 1,040MW coal station on the island.
