The company said that the total mine production is estimated at 1.61 million ounces over the mine life of ten years.

Expected to produce 160,000 ounces of gold per annum from 2016 onwards the project will require an estimated start-up capital of $303m.

Working capital requirements for the project have been pegged at $57m.

Commenting on the developments Endeavor Mining CEO Neil Woodyer remarked that the project had demonstrated a rapid growth in its potential.

"The Houndé deposit has grown quickly in size with every drill program, including a 63% increase in Indicated resources in the update announced today, and has now reached a scale where the development of a mine at Houndé could potentially increase Endeavour’s production rate to over 550,000 gold ozs per year during 2016," added Woodyer.

The mining company also unveiled the annual production figures for 2012 that pegged total production at 310,778 ounces of gold.

"We continued to increase the scale of the business with the successful acquisition of Avion in October 2012, and we delivered above guidance gold production for the quarter and the year," noted Woodyer.
