The mining license covers an area of 205 km2, approximately 15% of the existing exploration license of 1,408km2 and contains a measured and indicated sylvinite mineral resource of 573 million tons grading 20.92% potash.
Elemental CEO Iain Macpherson said that the timely approval demonstrates for the support for the high quality Sintoukola potash project.
"The mining license is another positive step in the development of the project and puts Elemental in a strong position to begin construction once our engineering and feasibility work is completed," added Macpherson.
"It also emphasises the seriousness with which the RoC Government is committed to the development of mining assets in the region."
With mining license in place, the company is now intending to clear permitting stage for the project, having applied for the environmental and social impact assessment (ESIA) permit with the Ministry of Mines.
