Latvenergo, Latvia’s national electricity generator, has awarded a contract worth US$2.54M to Electrowatt-Ekono for various engineering services at the Plavinas hydroelectric power plant on the Daugava river.

According to the LETA news agency, Electrowatt-Ekono will undertake the work in co-operation with Fortum Service and two Latvian partners.

The Plavinas plant is one of three plants in a cascade located 90km east of Riga.
