SUEZ Group subsidiary Electrabel has announced plans to build three power stations in northern Germany with a minimum capacity of 800 MW each.

The plants, at Stade, Wilhelmshaven and Brunsbüttel respectively, follow the completion of feasibility studies on each location. However, while no decision to invest in any of the three new stations has yet been taken, the first could be operational by 2009 if gas-fired or 2010 if coal-fired.
