EPE’s energy purchases are part of its ongoing program to supplement its energy mix with renewable energy sources.
Last month, EPE started receiving energy from NRG Energy’s 20MW Roadrunner solar generating facility located in Santa Teresa, as part of a 20-year purchase power agreement.
First Solar provided engineering, construction and procurement services for the project using its advanced thin film photovoltaic solar modules, and is the operations and maintenance contractor for the facility.
In July, EPE started receiving electricity generated from NextEra Energy Resources’ 5MW Hatch solar energy center in Hatch, as part of a 25-year agreement to purchase agreement.
The Hatch center uses Amonix’ concentrated photovoltaic solar power systems.
