The company will use the fund for a €792m ($1bn) program to comply with the Euro 6.2 emission standards of the European Union, which will be effective from 2017.
The program, which will be implemented in France between 2013 and 2017, reflects the company’s ongoing commitment towards research and development and the bank’s lending priorities to promote sustainable development and innovation.
EIB vice-president Philippe de Fontaine Vive said that the bank is very happy to be signing this financing agreement with PSA Peugeot Citroen.
"This EIB loan perfectly illustrates Europe’s commitment to innovation, sustainable development, and its citizens, who will benefit most from this major project," Vive added.
"By securing this financing, we are supporting renewed growth in France."
