When the new headquarters is redesigned, it will be a sustainable headquarter locations in Dallas and will hold a designation of US Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) for Commercial Interiors (CI).

lauckgroup, a US-based interior architecture and design firm, has been selected by Energy Future Holdings Corporation (Energy Future) to redesign its 130,000-square-foot corporate headquarters located in Dallas. When the new headquarters is redesigned, it will be a sustainable headquarter locations in Dallas and will hold a designation of US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) for Commercial Interiors (CI).

The new headquarters will be fully redesigned in June 2009.

Energy Future’s new headquarters is located at Energy Plaza, 1601 Bryan, in downtown Dallas. Energy Future will continue to consolidate its operations in Energy Plaza.

“As we are a company that advocates energy efficiency and conservation, we feel that our corporate headquarters should reinforce our message of environmental stewardship,” stated Bob Keith, Energy Future’s director of facility & building services. “Our new space really does just that. Not only has it helped consolidate our workforce, but in a pleasing, work friendly and environmentally sound environment.”

An important priority for Energy Future has been to utilize environmentally responsible components all through the new space, incorporating high-efficiency lighting and sustainable materials. Broader access to daylight, more teaming spaces for collaboration and advanced technology have also been integrated into the work environment. Current plans incorporate securing the LEED-CI Gold designation for the new headquarters.

“We’re working to reuse existing materials, while creating a modern, light-filled work environment for Energy Future. Our design seeks to blend sustainability, technology and modern design to create both a functional and multipurpose workplace,” stated Brigitte Preston, design principal, lauckgroup.
